The advancements in dental implant technology have substantially changed the way we can treat patients with missing teeth. Implants can replicate the look, functionality and strength of your natural teeth, and they truly are a fantastic¬†solution for missing teeth. The versatility of the treatment means that it’s a viable option for those missing a single tooth, those looking to replace multiple missing teeth and even as an anchor for loose dentures.

It’s hard to understate the confidence offered by restoring your healthy smile. Implants can be used to replace teeth lost to decay, trauma, gum disease or old age, and can really transform the way you feel about your smile.

What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants act as a replacement for missing teeth, replicating the form and function of a natural tooth. There are two parts, a root and a crown, which make up the full implant. The root is a small titanium rod which is fixed to the jawbone, a procedure which is completed by our implant surgeon Guy McLellan.

Through a process known as osseointegration, the root fuses with the bone and functions much in the same way as a natural tooth root. The crown is then crafted by our CDT Mike, fitted to the root and the implant process is complete.

There are various options available when it comes to dental implants, including:

Single Tooth Implants

This treatment can be used to replace a single missing tooth, or to replace 2-3 missing teeth where there’s a small gap. This is achieved by either attaching a single crown to the implant, or by using a small bridge to replace multiple teeth.

Implant Retained Dentures

Many people have issues with loose or unstable dentures, and embarrassment over the issue is fairly common amongst denture wearers. Dental implants can be used to secure dentures and prevent them from slipping, with the treatment requiring as few as two implants in the lower jaw or 4 in the upper jaw.

Same Day Teeth

If you’ve ever been told that you may not be a suitable candidate for implant treatment due to issues with a lack of bone in your jaw, Same Day Teeth can help you restore your natural smile. New implant technology means we can now replace a full arch of teeth in a single day, rapidly transforming your smile and improving your confidence. Our patients can walk in without a single tooth and leave with a full set of healthy, natural looking teeth.
